The Brenton Meynell Project (BMP) is an Australian progressive, ambient, and blues-infused rock project led by guitarist, producer, and educator Brenton Meynell. Blending expansive soundscapes, expressive blues-rooted guitar phrasing, and dynamic progressive structures, BMP sits at the crossroads of prog rock, post-rock, cinematic instrumental music, and modern blues.
Built as a collaborative project, BMP has featured contributions from internationally recognised musicians across multiple releases, reflecting Brenton’s long-standing connections within the global music community. While the compositions often unfold with progressive scale and atmosphere, the emotional core remains grounded in blues sensibility—feel, space, and melodic storytelling.
2026 marks a major milestone for BMP, with the release of the first singles from the project’s debut album. These releases feature performances from Jeremy Colson (Steve Vai, Billy Idol), Bryan Beller (Joe Satriani, The Aristocrats), Drew Goddard (Karnivool), and Doug Doppler (Doppler’s Gear Garage), bringing together a diverse mix of progressive, rock, and blues-driven influences.
Alongside new releases, Brenton will also appear live in 2026, sitting in with his other band SevenHurtz at the KOA Festival, and performing with A Few Simple Rules at the Nannup Music Festival.
With new music, high-profile collaborations, and major festival appearances locked in, 2026 is shaping up to be a defining year for the Brenton Meynell Project—an evolving body of work driven by collaboration, atmosphere, and guitar-led storytelling
